First Principles
The ESE enhances the mechanism of lightning by creating ascending leaders to meet descending plasma channels from lightning events. It is both laboratory proven and shown in situ. The Faraday Cage relies on the fact electromagnetic fields do not propagate inside cages formed by electrical conductors. The spacing between conductors is arbitrary and not proven, although critical for efficiency of the Faraday Cage.

ABOUT SAFESTRIKE
For over three decades, Safe Strike has been specified by architects, consulting engineers, and major institutions seeking unparalleled expertise in lightning protection.
We have collaborated with some of the UK’s most renowned architects, including Baron Richard Rogers of Riverside and Baron Norman Foster of Thames Bank, as well as industry-leading consulting firms such as WSP and Arup.
The Ministry of Defence has relied on our expertise for over 20 years, integrating our systems across multiple high-security sites. Our solutions also protect numerous NHS Trusts, ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe.
Before launching the UK’s first and only in-situ field-tested British ESE system, we worked directly with the inventor and patent holder of the first-ever ESE system in the 1980s, helping to establish Safe Strike as the authority in the industry.
